David Bloom, to whom the book is dedicated, was a 39-year-old reporter for NBC's “The Today Show” covering the war in Iraq when he died from Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) or a blood clot. It was believed to result from immobility on flights and in war tanks. This inspired Maggie to share her insights about how to get the blood pumping to supply vital oxygen to the body, to not only prevent DVT, but to also stimulate the body’s metabolism and help you feel rejuvenated when you reach your destination.

The ‘Fly Fit’ program teaches travelers how to counteract the effects of flying on the mind and body, and then takes it a step further, employing resistance bands, stretches, aerobics and isometrics. ‘Fly Fit’ shares tips on…

  1. Making the Most of Exercise While You Travel
  2. Ways to Exercise in the Airline Terminal and In-Flight
  3. Getting the Most Out of Exercise at Your Destination
  4. Packing Power Snacks for Travel
  5. Posture Techniques for the Airport and Airplane
  6. Meditation and Relaxation Methods
